The Learning Post was the dream of an elementary principal and teacher (husband and wife) who wanted to start a business that brought the best quality and newest variety of educational products together for everyone.
The Learning Post opened in April of 1977 with a 2,000 square foot store and has continued to expand over the last 33 years. Our Urbandale location has nearly 12,000 square feet full of a great variety of books, toys, games, classroom decoratives and more.
The Ankeny location was added in 2002 to provide a convenient location for our customers to the north and east. Our customers at both locations include teachers, parents, grandparents and anyone who is interested in nurturing a child and their learning potential.
Our goal has always been to provide great products and customer service that may be difficult to find elsewhere.
